Winter on Isle Au Haut

This photo was made using the help of two people shining their head lamps at Robinson Point Lighthouse Station on Isle au Haut during a project we worked on called “Six Miles Out.” last February.

ISLE AU HAUT, MAINE — 02/04/2014 — Robinson Point Lighthouse Station on Isle au Haut is lit by headlamps during a winter evening on the island. Summer brings about 500 residents and many more tourists to the island. The bustling island, south of Stonington, can quickly become desolate during the winter months, but a tight community of about 25 to 30 residents remains. Brian Feulner| BDN
