Saving a species

Fisheries biologist Denise Buckley holds up a salmon for her colleague Dan Tozier to scan it’s tag at the Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery in East Orland. During the spawning each fish is scanned to make sure the eggs are fertilized by the most distatntly related males. Biologists at the facility are nearly finished with the spawning of salmon for the 2014 season.
